Redefining the Folding bicycle
They are not dusty bikes left forgotten outside, but personal mobility objects worthy of being kept indoors—valued, cared for, and lived with like a car.

Yet, many folding bicycles have remained visually and mechanically unchanged for more than five decades, failing to reveal the full potential of what this category can become.

At Analog Machine Works, we wanted to show a new possibility for the folding bicycle: not just as a convenient tool, but as a future luxury mobility object—engineered, refined, and designed to belong in modern life.


The Geometry of Folding
The greatest challenge was refining that hinge layout to achieve a precise and reliable folding motion. To arrange each hinge at complex three-dimensional angles, a sophisticated tubular space-frame structure was essential.

The result is Tetra: a folding bike where structure, motion, and beauty come together.

Built by Hand. Ready for Production. 
Tetra was first developed through a hands-on prototyping process, allowing us to test the folding structure, refine the hinge layout, and understand every detail of the frame. Each prototype helped us move closer to a design that was not only beautiful, but also functional and buildable.

We are now preparing for production in collaboration with an experienced manufacturing partner. Together, we are refining the process, reviewing production methods, and working toward bringing Tetra from prototype to a finished folding bicycle for our backers.

 


Recognized on the world stage
 What began in a small home workshop has been recognized by the Red Dot Design Award, the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award, and the European Product Design Award—honoring Tetra’s innovative structure, sculptural engineering, and vision for the future of folding bicycles.  


A new folding bike is ready to begin.
 Tetra is the result of years of design, engineering, prototyping, and refinement. Now, we’re opening the next chapter on KICKSTARTER—with the support of riders who believe folding mobility can be something more.
